Frequently Asked Questions
What is tactical asset allocation (TAA)
Tactical asset allocation (TAA) is an active investment methodology where a portfolio’s mixture of asset classes is adjusted over time in response to changes in asset class performance or value. The goal of tactical asset allocation strategies is to improve portfolio performance while reducing downside risk.
New strategy recommendations are available at the end of each month. Strategies are designed to make changes to investments on the last trading day of the month.
Approximately 10-20 minutes per month could be needed if strategy recommendations change. Under some market conditions, strategies do not recommend changes from one month to the next.
We utilize a tactical approach to asset allocation which changes investments systematically over time using mathematical models. This tends to keep portfolio models invested in the strongest areas of the stock market in bull markets, and in safer investments during bear markets.
